Yamaha Guitar Information

If you are looking for a good beginner guitar then you can’t go wrong with a Yamaha guitar.  Just remember that your investment of time and effort will only result in the success you desire if you incorporate some necessary advance planning.

The first step is to purchase the right Yamaha guitar for your needs.  Just any guitar won’t do.  Even some of the less expensive guitars from Yamaha are not necessarily the best choice.  Spend enough on your first guitar to insure that you have a quality instrument.  Junk will sound like junk no matter how hard you try.  Cheap guitars have poor sound quality, are difficult to tune (and keep in tune), and actually make the process of learning more difficult.

Yamaha Gigmaker Deluxe Acoustic Guitar Package

Another beginner option is to buy a guitar package or kit.  This way you can get most of the products that you will need to get started on the learning process.  The Yamaha Gigmaker Deluxe Acoustic Guitar Package comes provides a good selection of accessories.  More importantly, the guitar that comes in this set is highly regarded by those who have purchased it.  This package includes a gig bag, tuner, strap, strings, picks, and an instructional DVD in addition to the guitar.

Let’s be honest…the gig bag is not the best but good for protective storage.  The tuner is a low-end product and the instructional DVD leaves a lot to be desired.  You may actually be better off just to buy the guitar and then purchase a better tuner and instructional book to get you started.  An instructional DVD can be very helpful because you can see and hear the instrument being played.

The list price for this item is $350 but you should be able to get it for under $200.

Yamaha FG700S Acoustic Guitar BUNDLE including Hard Case, Strap, Stand, Polish, Tuner, Strings, Picks, Capo, Stringwinder and DVD

If you really want a beefed up beginner bundle then this is it.  Buyers have been very pleased with this product.  Again, the guitar gets high marks and the hard case really is an important safety feature.  You will also enjoy having use of a guitar stand.  When you get really serious about practicing (as you should) you will welcome having a place to keep your guitar within easy reach.  Putting the guitar in the case and then taking it out on a regular basis can become a hassle.

Yamaha FG JR1 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar with Gig Bag

Looking for a guitar for a child or young teen?  The Yamaha FG JR1 ¾ Size Acoustic Guitar with Gig Bag is an excellent choice.  Yamaha designed the JR1 for the younger player or anyone who is more comfortable with a smaller-bodied acoustic.  One of the nice things about this guitar is that, although smaller, it still produces an excellent sound.

There are few endeavors that can produce more personal fulfillment than playing a musical instrument.  Of course, the better you get the better the experience.  Most of us aren’t prodigies and actually have to work incredibly hard to improve our skills.  Equally important is learning proper techniques from the beginning.  It is harder to unlearn bad habits than it is to learn good ones.  Put a little extra effort into doing it right from the beginning and then practice…practice…practice.

Things like arpeggios, chords, and scales must be learned if you want to master the guitar.  All this takes time but pays great dividends.  But it all starts with a good beginner guitar and for that we recommend a Yamaha guitar.
